Michelmass St. Michael Archangel Candlemas

Michaelmas, annual Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael, the Feast of the Archangels, or the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels, is a day in the Western Christian liturgical year that occurs on 29 September. In medieval England, Michaelmas marked the ending and beginning of the husbandman's year.

Saint Michael the Archangel waged battle with the evil dragon... He drove them quickly to hell; and those that took a hesitant stand with him, and not such a foolishly determined one, he drove those out of heaven and cast them into the air, down in this lower region close to the earth (and into the lift hom caste Al here bynethe toward eorthe). There occur the greatest number of tempests, and there they shall dwell in pain to await Judgment Day. And as their guilt was greater, so much greater is their pain, and the worse the place they occupy to do their penance. There were other angels who were somewhat mistaken, but nevertheless, inclined more to God's side and scarcely refrained from joining it. They, too, went forth from heaven... but at Judgment Day, they shall make their way again to Heaven.

Manly P. Hall says,

Some secret orders have taught that the sun was inhabited by a race of creatures with bodies composed of a radiant, spiritual ether not unlike in its constituency the actual glowing ball of the sun itself. The solar heat had no harmful effect on them, because their organisms were sufficiently refined and sensitized to harmonize with the sun's tremendous vibratory rate. These creatures resemble miniature suns, being little larger than a dinner plate in size, although some of the more powerful are considerably larger. Their colour is the golden white light of the sun, and from them emanate four streamers of Vril. These streamers are often of great length and are in constant motion. A peculiar palpitation is to be noted throughout the structure of the globe and is communicated in the form of ripples to the emanating streamers. The greatest and most luminous of these spheres is the Archangel Michael; and the entire order of solar life, which resemble him and dwell upon the sun are called by modern Christians "the archangels" or the "spirits of the light."

Gold is the metal of the sun and has been considered by many as crystallized sunlight. When gold is mentioned in alchemical tracts, it may be either the metal itself or the celestial orb which is the source, or spirit, of gold. Sulphur because of its fiery nature was also associated with the sun.

Rudolph Steiner and The Christmas Conference of 1923-24

What was founded at the Christmas Conference was� something completely new. Here, esotericism entered into the social life; it ceased to be the property of a relatively small circle of people striving for union with the supersensible world. Henceforth it is no longer just a personal affair of the individual responsible only for his own development, but each individual who now connects with it takes upon himself also a social responsibility for the realization of the supersensible impulse of Michael, which since the Christmas Conference works directly through the Anthroposophical Society. Thus Rudolf Steiner spoke particularly clearly about this on 25 September 1923. �And the right ground into which we must lay the Foundation Stone of today is our hearts, in their harmonious working together, in their good will, permeated through and through with love, to carry together through the world the anthroposophical will.�

February 2 40 Days after Christmas

Feast of the Presentation of Jesus
in the Temple of Jerusalem.

The Law of Moses required every first-born male to be consecrated to the Lord - and the parents to offer in sacrifice, in accordance with the Law, "a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons."

The formal dedication of the eldest son, destined to inherit the name, responsibilities, and blessings of the clan one day, guaranteed family harmony. There was clear understanding the newborn belonged to God and could not be claimed by other family members.
Read LUKE 2:22 for the prophecy delivered by two elders, both drawn to the temple that day. Simeon, a holy man, and Anna, prophetess of the tribe of Asher, spoke at just 'that moment' and foretold all could look forward to the deliverance of Jerusalem.
Candlemas is the celebration of The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple on 2 February, an early episode in the life of Jesus. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, it is one of the twelve Great Feasts, and is sometimes called Hypapante ("Meeting" in Greek). Other traditional names include the Feast of the Purification of the Virgin and the Meeting of the Lord.

If Candlemas day be fair and bright,
Winter will have another flight.
If Candlemas day be shower and rain,
Winter is gone and will not come again.

CANDLEMAS

Consecrate, bless, and burn candles this day. Festival, torch light or candlelight processions, streets strung with lanterns help celebrate the coming of Spring and new agricultural year. Fields are cleared of any debris that remains from the last cycle. The earth is prepared for planting, just as seeds, new bulbs,and shoots are restless for immersion in Earth's fertile black soil.
All celebrate a new beginning, flowers of light, and no hindrance of mind. Symbols derived from living roots of the past are chosen to help with the community call to congregate after Winter chill.

We witness the returning Akasha 'life force' in our family, local community and spiritual circles. The front door is dressed with Brigid's wheel, to bless the home. Everyone has a special prayer; collective poems and music.
February 1 Juno Februa and Juno Sospita (savioress) were celebrated with a torchlit procession in honor of the Queen of Heaven.
